mark1rev Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 hello my 2.3 1999 gal keeps nearly stopping running it only happens when ticking over at trafic lights or out side shops, when going along it seems ok.the rev counter goes right down and twice stoped then when you start it its ok ? Quote
seatkid Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 Probably a faulty or dirty idle control valve (ICV). Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 ...Could also be an air leak upstream of the MAF or a small crack or split in the induction trunking causing leaning off at idle whilst warm. Does it tick over properly when cold? Quote
mark1rev Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 yes when cold seems ok it cut out again today at traffic lights, it ticks over ok then suddenly revs go down and dies then start car again and its ok ? Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 I guess airleak....put some clean washing up water in a spayer and puff it over all the inlet pipes, where it bubbles is where the air is getting in. Quote
